← Back to collectionTwin lenses, a square image and an invitation to approach composition more slowly.
The Lubitel 2’s twin-lens reflex arrangement offers a different relationship with framing from conventional eye-level photography. The Science Museum Group documents the model as a Soviet-made camera using 120 rollfilm for square images; an example dated 1975 places the model within 1970s photographic culture. Its vertically arranged lenses and compact body make the distinction between viewing and recording visible, inviting a slower approach to composition.
